Azael always rose ten minutes before Lucifer in the morning to braid his hair. He could have left the silver-white locks hang loose, as his lover preferred, but it often got in the way throughout the day. It was simpler to rise earlier and bind it back
Such was the price to pay, but easily done so for Azael liked watching his lover sleep, sprawled over their bed in a pile of pale limbs, hair black and stark against the sheets: perfection in a boneless heap of angel who always woke with an “I love you,” that made Azael smile.
