Written for Round 12 of
blind_go, I tried for something a little different from the norm in fandom. I thought it'd be different from what I usually wrote as well, but aside from character/pairing focus, I've realized it's much the same in theme and style. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it - I like the story I'm trying to tell, but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with the way it was told. I feel like this a lot though! I'll Take My Chances While You Take Your Time
Hikaru no Go, Isumi/OFCs, Isumi/Waya friendship, R, 3425 words
When Go has been your entire life, sometimes you wonder if you've missed something important along the way. Isumi mends bridges and confronts questions without answers.
( He was part of the fierce young generation of Go players, the new wave. He felt old, though, like he'd missed the most important parts of his life while looking only at the endless universe of the Go board. )
